Profitable organization
As you're out there networking and building a name for yourself, its evident that you will find business and be profitable. The biggest thing that can hinder you at this point is not being organized enough.
What do you do to stay organized now?
When I started networking I didn't know what to expect. I enjoyed the experience I was getting. I joined a local chamber and later BNI. As I interacted with people started getting tons of business cards. I would put them in my pocket or my breifcase. They would end up on my desk and my wife would want to clean up and sort through them. I'd tell her not to rearrange them and that i would get to them, which meant that they would eventually be placed in a card box and sit there. I realized that I needed to get a handle of this. Putting them in an expensive CRM may be a waste and rewriting them in a notebook is out of the question.

Do you have a stack of business cards piled up somewhere?
A solution could be one of three things. I you have a lot of paper the easiest way to sort it all is to get a business card book with clear sheets. Put the people that are most important to you in front and the rest in the back. I recommend getting a huge one and maybe more than one because you never know how important someone is until you know. A second solution can be to put them in Google's contact manager. When you go to Gmail on the web there is a drop down menu that shows up when you click on the word GMAIL. On the menu you'll see contacts and then you have it.

Do you feel like there is business falling through your fingers?
A really effective system I have for my self is in Google contacts there is an option for putting people into groups. I think this is the best way to keep track of contacts you'd like to do business with. You can designate a day to call and or email to help you keep yourself at top of mind for them. Because they're all in a group organized you know who you contacted and who you haven't.
